Avon Marching Black and Gold. This is not the stereotypical marching band the average person thinks of. We are a family that prides ourselves on sweat, tears, and discipline. My first year in marching band taught me an array of important life lessons that I wouldn’t have gotten otherwise such as time management, social skills, and most importantly, learning that winning should never be my only driving force. My freshman year I had the mindset that I needed to work my hardest so the band could
continued looking at the instruments in front of me. It was a special day in my sixth grade music class. The teacher was offering a band, and the students had a one day opportunity to look, and play, any instrument he thought we liked. Although my first experience with the flute was unfortunate, this one experience helped me decide my future musical career. I have been in a band since my sixth grade year, and I have changed my instrument so many times, I can practically pick up any instrument and play it

Music has a significant impact on my life. From beginner piano lessons in first grade to performing in the front ensemble of the Miami University Marching Band, music has shaped my personality and has helped me become more creative and open minded. Everyday I experience music in some form, whether on the radio, through my cellphone, or even sometimes at a live performance, and my listening habits have evolved over the past few years. For the most part, I listen to music through my cellphone. Apple

Why Marching Band is better than Sports: Since I was young band has been a huge part of my life, and while I may be a bit biased saying so, band is one of the best organizations that a school can have. But I’m not going to just leave it at that, after all, I’m sure every football player and their parents would disagree. Even some band students don’t believe that any type of band program is worth the time or energy that most band directors ask of them. So I will provide evidence proving my main statement
I am not an Education major, but I am in the marching band. Ever since I was little, I wanted to be in a marching band. I would watch the FAMU Marching 100 and copy all their moves as if I was a drum major. It was a dream that I now live. I am a member of the Butler marching band. I play clarinet and hope out anyway that I can. I have painted the practice and game field for our performances. I have painted the band storage room in Hinkle field house. I try to help out as much as possible. Not because
I should be considered to be the percussion section leader for The Force 2015 Marching Band season. Band is more than just a class to me, I feel I am a part of something special. I want to be accepted as section leader because I feel I have the capability to become a great one. Being section leader is a huge responsibility. I would be an exceptional section leader. The reason I think this is because I have proven that I can be a good leader, by coming in early to set up the Drumline by myself
