Child bride marriages are human rights violations. More than 700 million women alive today were married as children. That is about four times the population of females in America, married under the age of 15. South Asia is home to almost half of child brides and just about one-third is in India. I agree Garca Machal (one of the woman) in the video when he says that, people in many cultures have an excuse that it’s “tradition. Traditions can be changed because people created them. Every year, nearly ten million girls are forcibly married. Not only that child bride, marriage is inhumane; it causes a lot of development issues. For instance, lack of education, increased poverty, increased maternal and child mortality. About 64% of illiterate adults are women that were married as a child. “Over 60% of the world’s hungry are women”. Child brides are more likely to have children, and less likely to receive medical care. This should be the other way around. They need to see what they are doing within their culture is doing more damage than good. Children need to be children and not brides. They need to know who they are, be able to make logical decisions on their own.…show more content…

It breaks my heart to see the video on secret weddings. Parents are lying about their children’s age; because they know what they’re doing is illegal.
