Throughout the history of the world, discrimination in all forms has been a constant battle. The issues of different race, gender, religion, beliefs, appearance, or anything else that makes one person different from another, it is to this day an ongoing controversy. One significant discrimination problem takes place in the work place. Even though, women social status has greatly improved, we still see inequality within the workforce. Today with women receiving the same and equal training and education, and with the same experience as men; there is still inequality. A new analysis conducted by the National Partnership for Women and Families found that on average, “African American women are paid 60 cents and Latinas are paid 55 cents for every dollars paid to White, Non-Hispanic men. This amounts to annual losses of $21,937 and $25,177, respectively” (Dishman). According the Gender and Development Group of the World Bank (PRMGE), in all countries, married women report lower employment rates than do married men; moreover, the difference in employment rates between those with and without children is generally very large for women. Married women with children have a lower employment rates than do married women who are childless. Gender pay gap is happening around the world, whether it is a developing or developed country they are struggling with it as well. According to the UN’s International Labor Organization, they found that “women across the world earn 77% of the amount paid to men, a figure that has improved by only three percentage points in the past 20 years” (Topping). There are no differences whether if it is in the United States or around the world, gender pay gap for women is still low compare to men.
