This paper is a research about cultural diversity, intercultural dialog in today’s society –benefits and current issues. The research provides with the brief idea, meaning, and the sense of the cultural diversity definition. The development of the intercultural dialog is unveiled. It shows the advantages and disadvantages in today’s communication in various areas of life. The paper represents the importance and influence of the cultural diversity in modern world. For example: face-to face interview, online questionnaire, own observations, and reading relevant articles. The questionnaire was created in Google forms. I chose Google forms because it is easy to utilize and free, people can select different design and style for their form. Also, this tool is available on smartphones, what helps people create the forms and questionnaire even in the trip without laptops. The cultural diversity questionnaire consists of 9 multiplied questions. For instance, one of the questions was about cultural diversity impact on a lifestyle. Another was: “Have you ever communicated close with the person from another culture?” Some of the questions were about importance of the cultural diversity in daily life and within the organization. And in the end, I added questions about the age and nationality. When I finished creating my questionnaire - I send the sample through the social networks and by email to my friends and acquaintances. After people answered the questions the results and statistics of the questionnaire were available on the Google forms itself. There were a special column with the answers and its summary. There are a number of tips for communication with people who have the different cultural background to you. First of all, using observation skills is an integral part of interacting with different people. Observe how they behave to you, their body language. Secondly, respect and appreciate cultural differences. Do not be scared of dissimilarities, but accept them. For instance, in Sweden and China be punctual is very important not just during business meetings, but also in daily life. While in India and Argentina punctuality and timekeeping is not very important for people, they got used to being late. As can be seen, just be aware and ready that there are cultural differences. From my point of view, understanding and accepting cultural diversity depends on the people’s perception and personality. For example, whether they are open-minded or narrow-minded people. Appreciating these differences is the key point to successful communication. Adaptation plays a huge role in intercultural dialog nowadays. People have to adjust and adapt to various situations and diversities, because without proper communication’s knowledge and skills- nothing is possible. Being patient is essential as well.
