Many authors, such as Cowan (2008), and Yule (2010) claim that grammar is defined as the set of rules according to which words are changed and combined together in a sentence so that a sentence is formed both correctly and meaningfully. Grammar is important because the good language knowledge is sine qua none when we want to talk about language. It is the grammar who gave us names of word types and word groups and who enables us to form sentences not only in English but also in any other languages. Based on Aleksandra Milcic (2014), grammatical mistakes in a text can easily draw readers’ attention away from the content of the writing forcing them to think about grammar in a sentence. It has been argued that there was a mismatch between what was learned in the classroom and the communicative skills needed outside the classroom. (Celce-Murcia, et.al., 1997). The problem for Iranian EFL learners is that most of them have difficulties in learning grammar particularly wh-questions. Research efforts have been going on to investigate ways to improve learning languages including learning English as a foreign language. In Iran, English language education is considered especially important for experts of the other fields. The problem is that students who have received several years of formal English instruction frequently face difficulties to use language grammatically, whether in the spoken or written form. Focus on structure and meaning are broad concepts that were a drastic change and it is better to say it was a revolution from focus on structures. Therefore, unfortunately our teachers and learners have been deprived of this change and its contributions. Grammar is the crucial part in language teaching and it plays an important role in language. In order to speak accurately, a person needs to know grammar.
