Is the use of animals in research justified? Should animal experimentation be permitted? Should these animals be liberated? The use of animals in scientific research has long been a debatable subject for decades. Most individual consider it morally wrong for animals to be used this way just for the benefit of humans. In this paper, I will give a brief background and description of the scientific use of animal testing, I will explain some of the medical furtherance achievements from animal testing, and I will also be giving my very own opinion about the topic. Living things such as animals and humans are very multiplex. Animals are very similar to human beings in so many different ways. According to Animals-testing.procon.org, Chimpanzees share 99% of their DNA with humans, and mice are 98% genetically similar to humans. Every single mammals including the humans, have ancestors in common. We all have similar organs. We all have hearts, kidneys, lungs etc. that function in a certain way that help with our bloodstream and nervous system. Because of the fact that humans and animals are so similar, they are more likely and liable to many of the same conditions and illnesses, including heart disease, cancer, and diabetes which are more especial when it comes to use of animals in scientific research. The lives of human should not be voluntarily be put in danger. It is not morally right to perform invasive medical experiment procedures on humans before even tested it on animals. Some of these experiments can be very dangerous when it comes to the life of a human.
