The Benefits Of Solar Energy

The sun has produced energy for billions of years. Its emits about 3.86 x 1026 watts of energy; 1.74 x 1017 watts of it strikes the earth. Solar energy is the sun's rays that reach the earth. This energy can be converted into heat and electricity. Solar panels are large flat panels and made with lots of individual solar cells. They can be used to heat water for use in homes, buildings, and swimming pools or to produce electricity. In the US, solar power has increased by 41% in the past few years. It has become the second-largest energy resource in the country after natural gas. By 2013, there are 445 megawatts at 950 facilities in America. In 2013, there were enough solar panels to power over 3.5 million homes in the US. In 2011, solar…show more content…
It’s that solar panels does not release harmful gases and do not produce air pollution by greenhouse gases or carbon dioxide. Although it produces air pollution in the manufacturing, transporting and installing of solar panels, but making it and put it on your house’s roof isn’t that much time. After that, the panels don’t produce anymore harmful gases. By using solar powered energy, you will be replacing the electricity you currently use, which releases greenhouse gas emissions, with clean, renewable solar power. Therefore, you will be reducing your carbon footprint and the amount of polluting emissions released into the atmosphere. If we all use solar power to have electricity, we can have less pollution than other resources. ( hudson energy solar…show more content…
Is that solar energy use sun to produce electricity and the sun is always there. If the sun is not there anymore or dies, the human dies, too. So using solar power doesn’t need so much effort and do not need machines. All kinds of solar panels use sunlight to produce electricity, however solar panels have different kinds of types. Solar Thermal Concentrating Systems and Parabolic Dish are used to boil water and produce steam that can make an electric generator spin. Households can use solar panels to make hot water for shower, laundry, washing dishes, etc. Solar Thermal Concentrating Systems by using mirrors and lenses to collect the rays of the sun and Parabolic Dish focus the sunlight on a single point. Parabolic Dish can produce much higher temperatures and it can produce electricity more efficiently. Single-crystal cells, Polycrystalline cells, and Amorphous silicon are part of making photovoltaic panels. These solar panels convert sunlight directly into energy. The heat collectors must first create steam to make turbines spin. Single-crystal cells are made in cylinders and sliced into round or hexagonal wafers and this kind of panel is more expensive. Polycrystalline cells are made of molten silicon cast into ingots or drawn into sheets, then sliced into squares. Their cells are square, they can be packed more closely together. Amorphous silicon it’s easier to make, but doesn’t produce as much power.
