My Impact On Self Esteem

This essay is a critical discussion and consideration of my impact on the relationships I formed with the learners during my school experience period. It will discuss whether or not my impact enhanced or reduced the learner’s self-esteem and furthermore the impact that it had on their academic achievement. According to (Ostler & Swannell, 1986) self-esteem can briefly be defined as having “a good opinion of oneself”. (Merriam-webster, 2016) further construes self-esteem as “a feeling of having respect for yourself and your abilities”. There are many benefits when a child exhibits a good self-esteem. (New, 2012) explains that if a child has a healthy self-esteem, they are able to handle the challenges the world throws at them.
