My hard work paid off. Ever since I was young, my father always told me that my hard work will pay off. He said that if I work hard enough at what I do, in the long run, I will be satisfied. I never really believed my father when he said these things because I always thought he was wrong. Now that I am older, I know that he was right all along. I have been playing soccer since I was six years old and starting soccer was one of the smartest decisions I have ever made. Playing soccer almost my whole life has made me realize how much of an impact it really does have on me. When I was young, I would always notice me working harder than others at practice and me taking practice way more serious than others. I would come home and say how I hate my teams because no one takes it seriously and there is no point in even going to soccer, but my father would always tell me that my hard work will pay off, so never quit. Some people may think that hard work will not pay off, but most of those people do not even want to test that theory. It is mentally, and physically, draining to keep working at something that you don’t think will even matter in the future. The amount of times I’ve wanted to quit soccer because I thought I wasn’t good enough, is unreal. That little saying that sits in the back of my brain is what keeps me going with what I love. Succeeding in something does not just come to you. You have to work hard for your dreams to come true and ever since I was little, I have wanted to play soccer at this level. The only reason I am at this point is because I worked and worked for this to be reality and it is actually coming
