In reality, everyone runs into a point in their life when they feel like a failure and don't have the ambition to keep up. This is what one will call a fixed mindset and having a fixed mindset will always set you for failure, unlike a growth mindset and being gritty. One characteristic that growth mindset and grit have in common is determination. Being gritty means setting a goal for yourself and do what you got to do to achieve this goal until you master the skill. In her opinion grit means sticking with things over the very long term until it is mastered. An Interpretation of her definition is continuously doing the fast until I can complete it on my own. Terms such as grit is a motivationalm word that most successful people use to get where they are now, according to Emily Hanford she states "The goal is to identify and measure the various skills and traits other than intelligence that contribute to human development and success" (p.46). This quote contributed to her experiment called the grit scale. The grit scale is when a person rates themselves 8 to to 12 items, during an online test. While taking the online test I developed a better understanding on grit and how to get grittier. Now I use it everyday so I can finish my goal to graduate high school. For one to succeed in finishing whatever goal they set for themselves they must have a growth mindset just as much as they should get gritty. Many people believe that having a growth mindset is basic qualities that can cultivate through your efforts. This proves that everyone has a growth mindset but failure will bring them into depression most of the time. This is then grit comes to help with mindset cause with grit they only see goals they want to achieve and don't accept anything less that what they are striving for. When I was in 8th grade my worst subject was Algebra and I thought that I was never going to get right. By the end of the year I realize this is the class I need so I can graduate, so I stopped complaining about it and set a goal for myself. I always went to after school and did my best to pass the class and learn algebra for high school. With the help of my growth mindset I knew what was best for me and my education. Ultimately, growth mindset and grit falls under the same category at times when it comes to motivation and success. At first whatever the person is facing will probably get difficult but that's not an excuse to give up. If one follow the way of grit and have a growth mindset then that's all they need to strive for success. Many high school students fail to realize that grit and growth mindset is what they need to graduate. Graduation requires a lot of hard work
