I never thought seeing my mom’s boyfriend get bit by a Zebra would be my reverse Pandora’s box. When I was younger my family and I went on our annual summer vacation but this time to Texas. We had decided on going on a safari, where we would have the opportunity to see a variety of exotic animals in a more natural habitat than the zoo. The safari operators made it a point to make sure there was a surplus of signs explicitly stating not to feed the animals from your hand, but instead to throw it onto the ground. Everywhere you looked exotic animals were scattered throughout. Ostriches, bison, and zebras were all wondering up to any cars willing to feed them. These visits blossomed into motivation for me to want to go to and explore different states as grew up, and now wanting to go international. Traveling has broadened my perspectives and has opened, and will continue to open, many doors for me. After having the opportunity to be able to see and experience all of these new places and I do not understand how people are content with staying in their bubbles of towns with the same people they grew up with and never leaving. I don't want to stay with the same people I've always been around, I want go to new places and learn new things. Education is the basis of everything. Without education there wouldn't be any kind of culture or diversity. As a person I don't want to be someone who “fits in”, I want to be an individual. I want to be the person I want to be and not who I am told to be. I want to explore, learn new things, and get the opportunity to live my dream. Ever since I was a little girl all I've ever wanted to do is travel. When people ask me what I want to do when I'm older and I tell them I want to learn as many new languages and possible and travel the world, they look at me like I'm crazy and will never amount to anything. I know this isn't the case because for as long as I can remember I've been doing what I love and will continue to do what I love. The issue today is that people don't follow their dreams. Travel
