Look around at your classmate. You might see your friends, or maybe just people that brighten up your day. Now think about what it would be like if all of those people were taken away from you without there being anything you can do to stop that. In America there is a growing concern about school shootings, and how we should go about ending this crisis. There have been fourteen school shootings in 2018 alone. This number should scare you. When will we put our foot down and stand up for the parents of the children who live every day knowing that their son or daughter never made it home that dreadful day? The best way correct this hypocrisy is to arm our teachers. One of the biggest concerns about teachers with concealed carry is the training. Training is an absolute must in order to be able to carry a gun. Let me elucidate on the thing that every teacher will need is an extremely thorough background check. School psychologist Michael Goldberg states that the defensive strategy has proven more effective than that if self protective. He also says that arming teachers would take away a lot of the what if’s that students have. After school shootings students are often left feeling defenseless which makes recovering that much harder for anyone let alone a child. Goldberg has also stated that school shootings may never even happen if the teachers are armed. Think about it this way. Let's say that a burglar is standing in the entrance of a neighborhood trying to decide which house to break into, the burglar is going to choose the house he or she knows there is no threat of being shot.
