My Passion In Physics

Knowledge and motivation are the driving factors in the success of people’s lives. However, Passion and the ability to dream are the key elements that tie everything together. I grew up in a joint family full of dreamers and achievers. My grandfather, ran away from his village to pursue his passion i.e. physics and got admitted to one of the most reputed colleges in India, St. Stephens College, New Delhi. He later got a PHD from IIT, Delhi and became a professor at the Delhi University, N. Delhi along with authoring several books on Physics. It was through him that I developed an interest in physics. His passion for it was contagious, however I knew from an early age that it was not my calling in life. Throughout my childhood, music was my defining sentience. I pursued Hindustani Indian Classical Music for 3 years and then was a part of my school Choir for 6 years. Our Choir and I were fortunate enough to perform at the Cathedral Church of the Redemption, New Delhi, which is known all over the country for its magnificent Architecture and design. Listening to our rendition of 'O Come All Ye Faithful’ reverberate through the beautiful high arches and the delicate domes, filled me with a deep sense of emotion.
