Young people tend to be more idealistic in using social media. Social Media can put each user’s minds in a greater advance. Every user has extended their capabilities in understanding and learning things their own way. Because of social media young people can be more creative in expressing themselves or how they deal with things in their social media account may either be through the pictures they share, the status they post or their daily blogs for example. Young people can learn anything in social media that can be very useful in their academic and social performance. Because of this, they become more idealistic in manifesting their way of thinking. If they will turn to be good readers or even an average one, they will become more idealistic and informative socially and academically. Young people’s improvement in online reading has taken to the next level. They became more active in using social media as their tool in reading. In today’s generation, it is as expected that young people have a high level access to mobile phones, computers and other electronic devices. This means that reading can be more of an activity more likely to be on screen than on the printed page. It has been proven that there have been several improvements of young people when it comes to online reading. Students are used to read online because of the positive effects that they can get through it and its easy way access. There are positive aspects of engaging in social media like students can freely access to online resources that can help them learn and discover new ideas and other information, they can use social networking in making their reports in school and they can also communicate with their teacher through the messaging apps available in social media. As a result, young people are more likely to compete with others socially because they will have an advance idea in all the information that they’ve learned through social media. The results were as expected and are really accurate to the young people’s methods of disciplining themselves academically. In the reading culture today, young people no longer confined to print reading rather they prefer online reading since it is very efficient and has an easy way access. Online reading contains a more advance information and can even relieve any reader to boredom through the visual effects added to it like pictures and videos. And to as what has been expected from our research, we found out that most young people or the senior high students in the university spent more of their time in surfing the net or in social media (see Figure 2) for reasons of entertaining themselves and gathering worldly information. And because of this, it is guaranteed that many of the students prefer online texts (PDF’s, Mobi, MS word document/.docx, MS PowerPoint, etc.) rather than reading in printed texts such as books and newspapers either to entertain themselves and relieve the boredom feeling they usually experience or to learn new information that can help the enhancement of their knowledge. This reason emerges for the young internet users to be potential readers
