NTRODUCTION Apple Inc. is a American company which manufactures computer software, personal computers, cell phones & consumer electronic products. The world's renowned products by Apple are: the Macintosh line of personal computers, the iPhone, the iPod and the iPad. By August 2010, 301 retail stores in 10 countries were operated by Apple Inc. The Apple consists of various software which are as follows: the Mac OS X operating system, Final Cut Studio, Logic Studio, productivity software (iWork suite), iOS; a operating system for cell phones, iTunes a media browser, AirPlay, AirDrop, etc.(Business Insider, 2013) Apple as a company was developed on 1st April, 1976 and was founded by co-founders Steve Jobs & Steve Wozniak in Cupertino, California.…show more content…
As the major rate of unemployment in the past five years has been a severe cause for sale of Apple's products like iPhone, etc. The day by day increase in the oil prices has also been an issue for the sales. Hence it was affecting the company in a negative way (the sales). But the recent study states that the economic conditions are rising in a positive aspect which has increased the net revenue of Apple across the world. The company declared the quarterly financial report of 2012 in which it was mentioned that "Apple sold 35.1 million iPhone's in the first quarter, which represented 88% unit growth over the year-ago quarter" (Apple Inc. 2012). (Refer to appendix 1) D.) Social factors : According to the present era in which we are living the social factors are affecting in a positive way for the company. As we all know that the economic conditions are getting better hence, everyone is living a modern lifestyle it has become a status symbol to keep the Apple iPhone. By the increase in the economic conditions the purchasing power of an individual is also increasing accordingly. In Apple Inc. under the CEO there are 11 executives of different departments which work directly in the supervision of company's top leader (Apple Inc. 2012). The CEO of Apple company has all the power and rights to control over all the departments which are headed by Senior Vice Presidents of COO, CFO, Legal, iOS software, Design, Retail, Operations, Product Marketing, Software Engineering, and Global Communication (Apple Inc. 2012). The main reason for the successful organization is the simplicity in work. The Executives of the company control the departments directly without any channel process/matrix relationship. Apple's structure has the centralized decision-making approach (Bajarin, 2011). The CEO and the directors of the company "glue" all the decisions and their decisions directly go down the line to all the staff of the company (Lashinsky, 2011). This is the benefit for the company because if any problem arises they have a direct link with the top leaders of the company.
