Why is imagination sometimes considered childish, if you express what’s going on in your imagination than you’re weird, but in the Wonderland the more imaginative the better. In the beginning of the novel, Alyss is characterized as Imaginative, sad, and alone. In the first chapter Alyss is at an inventors parade and is bored out of her mind, so she imagines that the parachute is fury, and that the hula-hoop is shooting out water, since her imagination is so powerful the parachute actually becomes fury and the hula-hoop actually starts to shoot out water. Alyss has one of the most imaginative minds in Wonderland. She is tired of being seen as ‘Odd Alice’ so she has decided that if she is going to be in this world a while she might as well conform to their ways of society. Skip ahead in part two. Alice is going to marry prince Leopold, but not because she loves, but because that is what her family wants, especially her mother, and since she is not fully sure if Dodge exists or not, so since she is not sure, she feels she must be realistic, and the realistic thing to do is to marry Leopold. On the night of Alice’s engagement party Dodge shows up and dances with Alice. He reveals himself to her, but he does not say who he is, but he shows her his scar the assassin cat gave him thirteen years ago. After this Alice is not sure what to believe anymore. “Alice peeked out at the guest… She wanted to take this opportunity to spy on her guest. Why? because she was looking for somebody” Beddor 119. Alice is looking to see if Dodge showed up to her wedding because she wants to know whether that was really him at her engagement party, or just a figment of her imagination. When the cat and Redd’s card soldiers crash Alice’s wedding, Dodge is there to save Alice when the cat starts charging towards her to kill her. Alice is shocked to see that Dodge did show up. Dodge takes Alice to the portal to Wonderland, Alice thinks she knows where he is taking her, but she has had to forget all of her memories of wonderland and just chalk them up…show more content…
Alyss doesn’t know whether she should stay in Wonderland or go back to London where the Liddell's and where Leopold are, she has had to forget about Wonderland for a very long time and she has gotten used to life without imagination, so she has adapted and gotten used to living a normal life, and also she does not know if she can just leave everything in London. She was about to be married, and she had left the people who had been her family for thirteen years. She just can not get up and leave, and not wonder if they are worrying about her, or if they are searching high and low looking for her. While Alyss is in wonderland she sees that it is not how she remembers it. Her aunt has changed everything that is good and pure about Wonderland. Alyss’ imagination is not as powerful as it once was when she was seven, she has not had the training that her mother had had, and Alyss does not know if the Alyssians should have as much faith in her as they do, because if Alyss does not have that much faith in herself then why should they. Alyss decides to go through the looking glass maze. She wants to reclaim her rightful spot as queen of wonderland. Alyss goes through the looking glass maze, she sees her mother’s head being cut off by Redd, her mother’s head rolls over to Alyss and tells her not to be bad because hatred and anger are
