To me, citizenship means a person will have his or her political rights; a country relies on citizens’ voice to achieve democratic, and at the same time, citizens have the sense of belonging because of their citizen identity. However, political power isn’t the most essential thing for people immigrating to another country, at least not for my aunt, who received a US green card but uninterested in attaining its citizenship. To people moving from developed counties to developing countries, immigration means creating new markets and opportunities.
