Ever since I was a kid, I was already exposed or oriented to pray all the time. Our family together with my relatives and my cousins were heavily influenced by our grandmother. She always go to church and she was even a choir singer. Now we were told to pray, I was told to pray but the problem is I don’t know how. As a kid the only prayer or prayers I know are those prayers that are fixed. Example of these are the Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be, the Apostles Creed and among others. Now even though I utter those prayers, does that make me know how to pray already? No I don’t, because I only utter those words without understanding. The spiritual enemies, which is the angels of Satan, knows, like God, if you are sincere with your prayer or not. If they sense that you are not sincere then they will leave you alone because Satan is happy when God is not. But when they sense that you are praying sincerely, expect that there will be a lot of distractions not just physically but especially spiritually. While praying you may think of something else that would lead to being lost in praying, or there will be physical distractions or whatever it may be. That is why when praying sincerely, you experience something extraordinary. This is usually happening when you are praying alone at night minus all the distractions. Others also experience this at public places and gatherings. You pray and then you just cannot help but cry asking for forgiveness to God and giving thanks to Him. I had an experience with this last year while I was attending Victory Weekend and so with the other participants as well. After all of the topics were discussed, we were asked to stand and pray whatever prayer we want. With the pastor leading, all of us cried and was overwhelmed by the presence of the Holy Spirit.
