Personal statement I am a highly motivated, compassionate and adaptable young person who is extremely positive. I am a confident, conscientious and competent somebody, who has the temperament, key skills and knowledge that are important for nursing. I am a reliable person who enjoys seeing each task though a successful conclusion. which makes me eager to get on I have worked in a care home and I worked as part of a team, undertaking care and offering support to older people. I assisted them with dressing, hygiene and medical needs, meal and social times. I kept accurate records and updated care plans as needed. I have previously passed my other units which I feel may be important for this job. These include Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity and Safeguarding Vulnerable adults which I feel may be beneficial for this role. I would characterize myself as a quiet, analytical person who….. This has helped me a lot to archive my confidence and independent thinking. I believe in myself. I usually prefer to observe what is going on rather than be involved in the middle of it. I often enjoy experiences I have had more when reliving them than when actually going through them. It is important for me to protect my time and energy and hence, to live a simple, uncomplicated life and be as self-sufficient as possible. I have high internal standards for correctness and I believe I will live up to those standards. It is easy for me to see what is wrong with things as they are and to see how they could be improved. I might come across to some people as very critical or demanding perfection, but it is difficult for me to accept things that are not done the correct way. I pride myself on the fact that if I am responsible for doing something, you can be sure I will do it right. I sometimes have feelings of resentment when people do not try to do things properly or when people act irresponsibly or unfairly, though I usually try not to show it to them openly. I started this when I was still young. I was always at the top at primary school. I was successful even at secondary school. I get a lot done and I am successful in almost everything I take on. I place a lot of value on being strong, honest and dependable. What you see is what you get. I identify strongly with what I do because to a large degree. I always have more to do than will fit into the time available, so I often set aside feelings and self-reflection in order to get things done, because there is always something to do. I find it hard to just sit and do nothing. I get impatient with people who do not use my time well. From a young age I have always been interested in nursing. Nursing is a very challenging and demanding career but I feel it can also be a very satisfying one where I have the chance to enhance people's lives during their times of
