Being bullied to being a star. Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Wyomissing PA. She spent most of her childhood on her parents Christmas tree farm. She started singing when she was five and learned guitar by the age of twelve. In her childhood she visited Nashville TN a lot so her family decided pick up and move to Hendersonville TN so she could be closer to Nashville and pursue her dreams. She sang all around her town and in Nashville any chance she could. Taylor has been faced with difficulties in her career such as being bullied in her childhood and being a girl. Swift has had a very successful career. At this point in her career she has been nominated 557 times and has one 245 awards and she is only 25! She has been honored by organizations like Nashville Songwriters Association and Songwriters Hall of Fame. When Taylor was fourteen she moved to Nashville TN and was signed by Big Machine Records. Taylor once said, “people haven’t always been there for me but music has.” This was true and Taylor put all of her anger and life stories into her songs. She wrote the song “Mean,” which is about bullies and being bullied, and it became a huge hit. Swift once said “the only words you’ll regret more than the ones left unsaid, are the ones you use intentionally to hurt someone.” She also faced the issue of being one of the only girls. In the country music industry there weren’t many females. She ended up working hard and won the award of Best Female Vocalist for the Country Music Awards. The last obstacle she faced was being really young. She was only fourteen when she was signed by Big Machine Records.
