Taylor Swift “She is, quite simply, a global superstar.” Taylor Swift is an internationally known performer, known for her incredible musical and singing ability. She was won seven Grammy awards, including Album of the Year, the “music industry’s highest honor,” (“TaylorSwift.com: About) at the youngest age ever of 21. Now age 25, she had produced five albums: Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, and 1989. Three of which reached one million sales in the first week they were released. Taylor also has toured internationally for each of her five albums, with the 1989 World Tour producing over $200,000,000 in revenue so far. Even when she was just five years old, she showed a big interest in musical theatre (Ray “Taylor Swift”. She grew up with her mother, Andrea, her father, Scott, and her brother, Austin. Many of her family members still tour with her to this day. She continued on to play in local restaurants and bars throughout the city of Nashville. Soon after she signed with Sony, Taylor released her first album when she was 16 years old. This album was entitled Taylor Swift and consisted of eight pure country tracks, the most well know ones being Tim McGraw and Picture to Burn. This albums was produced by Big Machine Records, the record label Taylor still works with today. Majority of the tracks on Taylor Swift were written during her freshman year of high school. This album was eventually nominated for a CMA for Album of the Year. Her next album, Fearless, was released in November 2008. Fearless contains thirteen country tracks, the most well known being Love Story and Fifteen, which Taylor still performs on tour today. This album was written when Taylor was eighteen and won two Grammys, two CMAs, an AMA, and two Teen Choice Awards. In October 2010, her third album was released, entitled Speak Now. Speak Now consisted of 19 tracks, with Back to December, Mean, and Enchanted becoming the most well known. Speak Now was nominated for a Grammy, two Billboard Music Awards, an AMA, a CMA and the Juno Award for International Album of the Year.
