Started as private trading firm, it later went on to become one of the biggest conglomerate in the world. After being successful with the textile business in 1874, the company later ventured into new markets. Which are Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, Tata Teleservices and many other companies. Starting as a textile company, Tata Group went on to acquire the top companies from all over the globe few examples are Land Rover, Jaguar, Daewoo and many other top firms. Tata Group has a worldwide footprint with operation in more than 100 countries spreading across to 6 continents, and employing over 660,800 employees worldwide. 2. Tata Group and its Corporate Social Responsibility 2.1 Introduction Tata Group is a global business group with products and services in over 150 countries, employing over 660,800 employees around the globe and operating in over 100 countries. The Group has a revenue of $103.51 billion with 67.3% generated in geographies other than India. Tata Group are also a global leader in several sectors.
