Social Work For starters, social work is a professional and academic discipline that will to improve the quality of life and enhance the wellbeing of individuals and families by ensuring social welfare and security for those affected by social disadvantages such as poverty, or community development, or supporting the mentally and physically disabled, and much more. It is a progressive profession where one can be actively engaged in helping others to help themselves. I want to become a social worker, because I was born and raised in poverty, and want to be able to patronize the impecuniousness. This field appeals to me, because it adduces significant personal rewards. It gives me the opportunity to accommodate the suffering. You must willingly want to make significant differences in the lives of those who need it. In addition, you must be nonjudgmental, empathetic, understanding, patient, and insightful. With that being stated, I know for a fact that I designate these qualifications. As a social worker, you must be professionally prepared to perform your skills, specializations, and commitment into social services. Under those circumstances, I am determined to develop into social work. On the other hand, in order to become a social worker, you must procure a degree focused on social work. There are associates, bachelors, masters, and doctorate options. But, most positions require a bachelor’s degree. This is quite reasonable due the profession of social work. However, the pay for social work is neither poor nor excellent. A social worker earns an average salary of $46,060 per year. A higher level degree often results in higher pay, but not necessarily.
