CHAPTER 2 LITERATURE REVIEW 2.0 INTRODUCTION In this chapter, the researcher will give an overview of literature and models that are related to the problems statement presented in the previous chapter. Moreover, this chapter will introduce about the existing research that have already exist to support this study. This chapter concludes by summary the effectiveness of implementing motorcycle lanes in Bandar Seri Alam. 2.1 OBSERVATION OF LANE-SHARING United States is limit the practice of line-sharing. United States prohibited practice of lane-sharing at all place except California. Moreover, this chapter was related about the risk of motorcycle, design and planning, safety, attitude, environment for this research title which is the effectiveness of implementing the motorcycle lanes at Bandar Seri Alam. Besides, this chapter also related with objective from the literature review which is to create awareness of safety for motorcycle users especially at Bandar Seri Alam and to increase safety enhancements for motorcyclist. Risk motorcycle is risk that motorcyclists have an accident but use safety, use helmet to protect and it can low risk from the accident. Design and planning is important to implement the motorcycle lane and ensure a high level of road safety, road network planning needs to be based on the best knowledge available of the effects of road design on road safety. Safety is important to rider motorcyclist and the thing that motorcyclist must use is helmet. Helmets can absorb the force of the impact and reduces the severity of the injury to the brain. Attitude is behavior of driver and rider road way and it can happen the road accident because of attitude been linked to differences in risky behavior such as speed limit. Environment is factor of road accident and influence of certain road features on accidents has been the consideration of uniform road segments characterized. When an accident is related to the road infrastructure, its cause is usually not a single characteristic but rather a complex combination of several characteristics.
