I find myself standing over a 70 foot cliff overlooking the blazing sun spreading its golden shine over Lake Superior. The hike has taken over five hours of up and downhill climbing to reach this climax. The pinnacle of our two straight days of backpacking in heats that would make even hades sweat, was this burnt sienna sunset. These 15 minutes of pure bliss, where I could watch two Titans battle it out in order to form a perfect sunset. I peer around my once near dead family, who are now enlivened by the sight before us, as they all knew this was our prize for surviving this expedition so far.
