Terry Oechslin Professor Pellegrino Mus 125 12/10/14 Michael Jackson I would say that my favorite recording artist would have to be Michael Jackson. He was one of the most successful Pop and R&B artists ever. The way he dressed and performed sets him apart from other artists. He didn’t care if people thought it was weird how he dressed he showed it was okay to be different. When he performed he had all the attention especially when he would do his famous moonwalk dance. He was born August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana. He died June 25, 2009 from a cardiac arrest. He was the eighth child of the Jackson family. What Michael Jackson means to me is he show’s to never stop once you have reached success. The reason he is the “King of Pop” and such a great artist is he never stopped working. He did not just get handed all his awards he won. Michael worked for every award he has ever gotten and all the success he has had. At the end of the day no one can take that away from him. I believe that Michael does not only affect me, he affects a lot of people not only in the United States but around the world. He affects me because it makes me realize once you set your goals on something do not stop once you achieve them, you keep going and set new goals to achieve. Michael Jackson in my opinion is a perfect example of you can never have too much success. I hope that when I start settling down and find my career job I have success like him. A personal experience I would compare to his success to me playing baseball. I was always told I had potential to go far playing the sport I loved to play. When I played little league I was always one of the taller kids on my team. I played Shortstop or Second base; I normally batted in the top 3 of our batting order.
