Nowadays, when there are so many ways to communicate, transportation and financial flows, the world is rapidly shrinking. International trade is booming. Since 1969, the number of multinational corporations in the world’s 14 richest countries has more than tripled from 7000 to 24000. International market is always so tempting. Many companies who are having struggles and difficulties at domestic market are being lured by the bright lights of globalization. Brands or products which originating from one country (such as Gucci handbags, Daniel Wellington’s watches, McDonald’s hamburgers, Mont Blanc pens, German BMWs) are finding enthusiastic acceptance in others. The culture values underpinning a society must be analysed carefully. What are the religions practised by the majority of the people? Is the society individualist or is it collectivist? Is there any dominant political ideology? Or economic ideology? All of those questions, and more, will cause the brand lots of impacts if left unsolved. Advertising in global markets takes on a very important role – that being the same to the culture and cultural symbols of the targeting market. When having to create communications, it’s critical to know clearly about your audience. Who the audience is the essential factors to help you develop and decide the type of creative (language, medias, pictures, visuals etc.). It helps your message more clear and appealing.
