Ethical Responsibility is the responsibility which the company believes that it is the right thing to do and not because they have a legal obligation to do. Unlike legal responsibility and economic responsibility, both of these responsibilities are considered as main responsibilities which need to be performed by a company while ethical responsibility can be exercised after a company has complied with economic and legal responsibilities. Ethical responsibility is considered as moral responsibility. It is not legally wrong if a company does not carry it out. In order for a company to success, a company need to appeal to a variety of stakeholders. This is because employee is the most important stakeholder towards a company as they provide labour and are in the subservient position to the organisation. Thus, employers have a moral obligation to look out the welfare of employees. It is not legally wrong if the employers do not carry out the moral obligation but if the employers pay attention to the welfare of employees, the employees will feel appreciated and respected by the company and therefore they will work harder for the company. To illustrate more on the corporate ethical responsibility, we can see through Nestle Company in UK which has become the first corporation to pay the living wage which is currently set at £8.80 per hour in London and £7.65 in elsewhere, compared to the national minimum wage of £6.31. Fiona Kendrick, the chief executive of Nestle UK & Ireland, he said that the purpose of having the living wage is to benefit their employees and the communities they live. The behaviour must within the ethical boundary which stipulates in the Code of Conduct. An illustration can be found in The Coca-Cola Company, Code of Business Conduct 2016. The purpose of this written Code of Business Conduct is to promote a culture of ethics and make sure all the employees and its majority-owned subsidiaries follow this code. In this Code of Business Conduct, it provides an example related to an employee forged company record. An employee is considered as breach of Code of Business Conduct provided that he attempted to get the company medical coverage for her adult children by submitting a form claiming that her children were full-time students but in fact her children were no longer
