Introduction As rightly said by John F. Kennedy, the human mind is our fundamental resource. Its proficient and effective management would help in deriving the maximum out of the most precious and valuable resource of the country. Everything and anything is available in our country. But, only if we know how to procure the appropriate resource at the right time for obtaining the required results, shall the work be considered to be effectively managed. Hence, such management process has to be applied in planning and regulation of operation of the employees of an enterprise for the purpose of fulfilment of the goals of the organisation. SOLUTION: Every organization should circulate within themselves the details of their organization and all the employees should be well-versed with the minute details of the organization, it should have a well functioning board to plan the work as well as other aspects of the personnel of the organization enabling them to have a well-structured functioning team. Recruiting: Personal bias, giving and taking of bribes, salary fixing are the major issues in recruiting. At times, recruitments from only those institutions with good repute and standard invite recruitments. Other institutions with lesser repute, like government institutions are many a times neglected. This results in neglecting the well-performing students in such institutions. SOLUTIONS: The steps that can be taken in effectuating ethical recruitment process may be used in effectuating ethical selection process too. Training: Reluctance to give proper training, non-compliance to the training modules and training calendars, lack of adequate facilities, misuse of money obtained for training for various other purposes by the HR planning authorities are some of the challenges in the training process. SOLUTIONS: A record as to the trainings to be provided as well as the training already provided has to be made available to the employees at the beginning of the financial year itself and improper use of fund should be put to the notice of the authorities Placement: The main problem of placement arises when the recruiters look at the individuals and not at their jobs. There are also dangers of back door appointments in the organization. SOLUTION: Placement should comply to the rules and regulations of the organization as well as a check should be made after the placements are done. Performance
