On September 11, George W. Bush said, “This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time. None of us will ever forget this day. Yet, we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world.” In response to this quote airports have become much more safe and secure to prevent attacks this severe from happening again. September 11, is something that Americans as a nation are continually reminded of. Since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, security, customs, and the dynamics of the plane have changed to make air travel a safer experience. The attack on 9/11 was considered as an act of terrorism according to the Federal Bureau of Investigations or the FBI (Koukoulas). That day brought to light security issues that most Americans were oblivious to. Most Americans' lived under a false sense of security (Taylor). Terrorist attacks are happening all around us but September 11, is definitely one that was personal to the country as a whole. “The terrorist attacks on 9/11 were one of many terrorist attacks that ravaged our country, but it is and still remains to be the most memorable one” (Koukoulas). Security, customs, and the dynamics of the plane have changed making the airport a much safer than before September 11. Most people on the TSA workforce are not as worried about attacks because they realize how much the security has updated itself since September 11 2001 (Peterson).
