Imagine being able to change lives. I’ve always wanted to be a child psychologist since the 8th grade. The responsibilities of a child psychologist have to do with assessments and kids with disorders. They work with those that are diagnosed with autism or pervasive development. An expert in human behavior understands the thought process and actions of children. You work in areas of assessment,consultation and intention, helping clients like premature ill, drug addicted newborns and trauma survivors. People may see this job as easy, but it's much more than you think. I am very passionate about the job i chose ,because obtaining this career means being a leader. Psychology was viewed as a scholarly study of the mind and behavior dates. Until 1870,psychology was a branch of philosophy. It developed as an independent scientific discipline in Germany and the u.s. The study didn't began until the early 20th century. They studied abnormal´s in children. Eventually ,many others started studying this field. A prominent psychologist of the 20th century was B.F Skinner. Behaviorism made him a dominating force in psychology and therapy. Calling his theory reinforcement ,Skinner stated if the consequences were high then the actions will not be repeated. He believed, “the more you reward a child the less chance they have at completing the action again.” B.F skinner made his mark in history. In order to become an amazing Child Psychologist there are many requirements you have to meet. To start, you need to earn a bachelor's degree in counseling. This means going to school for 4 years to do undergraduate work. In addition, attending school for 5-6 years helps you get your master's degree. By this time you would be doing graduate work. In conclusion, earning a doctorate is also something you should strive for. Go to school for 7-8 years studying phd or doctoral work. once you complete all of these things you're good to go for a
