I highly recommend Nadezhda P. Mezey as a candidate for a Director, Smithsonian Folkways Recordings. I have known Nadezhda Mezey many years. Nadia and I graduated from the same State Musical College in 1979. Nadezhda P.Mezey was an outstanding student and graduated with honors, completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance, Music Theory, Composition, and Education, maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
While a student, Nadezhda P. Mezey was employed by the State Musical College, and after graduation became a full time professor, teaching piano classes, music theory, music composition, harmony, and humanities. In 1979 she entered the Ural State Conservatory, Department of Music Theory and continued her education, receiving a Master’s degree in Music
