My goal is to stay in Alaska and complete a Bachelor’s in Physical Education and attain a minor in Athletic Training in four years. I bet you are wondering what an Athletic trainer is. They are health care professionals who can clinically diagnose, provide emergency care, implement preventative care, and help rehabilitate injuries as well as medical conditions. Although athletic training is what I really want to do in life, I am also very interested in the field of athletic/physical education. I believe that this path is a great way to be immersed with knowledge before I plan to embark on an even greater journey, the future. My life nowadays revolves around sports, work and school. I enjoy being involved in my community and with athletics. I play soccer competitively for the Chugiak Varsity team as having played volleyball at Chugiak in years previous. Sports have always been a big part of my life growing up. I learned teamwork and patience and perseverance, which has shaped who I am today. Incidentally, my job is one of the greatest joys in my life. I get to work with kids from the ages two-and-a-half to thirteen and help shape their futures by coaching soccer. Unlike most teens, when I was sixteen I completed a coaching course to attain my National E Coaching license. At sixteen years old, receiving the coaching license set me apart from everyone else my age. I could now apply everything I learned to my amazing job. Coaching soccer has been so rewarding for me. I have learned how to be a leader, instead of a follower. I learned how to organize my thoughts and to communicate them in a way that made sense to those listening. I also have gotten to be a positive role model to girls especially, helping them realize their own strength while showcasing
