William Shakespeare is still relevant to modern audiences with the modern screen adaptions like, 10 Thing I Hate About You, She’s The Man, The Lion King, West Side Story, Hamlet, Game of Thrones and Sons of Anarchy. These screen adaptions relate more to teenagers in this day and age and help them to connect with Shakespeare without most of them even knowing it, cause to be frankly honest what teenager would want to watch a boring play with guys dressed as girls when we can be drooling over Heath Ledger in 10 Things I Hate About You, now I’m sure every teenage girl would be happy about that. This screen adaption relates well with teenagers as it is filmed at a high school with teenagers having the same problems every other teenager has. As soon as he sees Bianca he falls in love with her. Bianca has also attracted Gremio and Hortensio, but Baptista will not allow her to be married until a husband is found for his older daughter Katherina, ‘the shrew’, whose aggressive character has made this unlikely. These similarities are not normally noticed by many as the have not seen or read a Shakespeare play but once you find the similarities it becomes apparent that Shakespeare is relevant to modern
