Which matters more, you getting music for free or taking away other people's hard earned money? Online Piracy is something that should not be taken lightly just because everyone does it doesn't make it right. Now there are laws made to prevent online piracy ,but of course they are not enforced or not enforced enough. According to “The history of Napster” (1), internet piracy started in 1999 with a peer to peer service that lets you download songs for free, Napster. So online piracy has been going for eighteen years now so the government has had plenty of time to decide on how to handle it. While I am sure some people in the government are working on new laws against it most probably haven’t even looked into it. I do believe one day we will reach a conclusion on how to stop online piracy because it is wrong and no person would want the same thing to happen to them. (First of all, online piracy is against the law. Second, it is stealing from a lot of people including producers, musicians, movie, and music companies. Finally, it helps hackers and illegal streaming companies gain money.) In conclusion online piracy needs to be stopped once and for all this start of a new era with everyone owning cell phones. Online piracy will just get worse and worse we might just end up fighting each other over it. One day we will be able to stop online piracy because all it will take is one person to come out and share all these details with the whole world. The stealing and misusing of technology needs to come to an end but the real question is how long will it take for the whole world to rid online
