C1 Bronfenbrenner theorised that there are many different influences that affect a child’s development, forming 5 systems to categorise certain events, or environments into. This theory helps me to understand the theme of Nature Vs Nurture, as it gives some context as to what environments can affect a child's development. From this, we can work out solutions for each child's situation, to ensure that their development is still progressing. The first system, microsystem, is the immediate environment around a child, such as their family and carers, as this is where most of a child’s nurture will come from. From these interactions, they are going to develop the social skills and their morals. This is supported by https://www.psychologynoteshq.com,…show more content…
But we become negatively influences by the environment and those around us, through the media, society and also our family. He thought that children should be shielded from the social pressures and influences around them, and so should be brought up is more rural areas instead of cities. This theory helps me to understand that Nurture does affect a child's development, such as social. The way a child is brought up can show many things, for example their morals. One child might be brought up to share and appreciate their belongings, as their families might not have the money to replace them. Within my placement we had children from lower and middle class, and also a few higher class children. This allowed me to see how different classes have different language skills. A child from a low class family would use broken English, as they came from an area which used a lot of slang, and wouldn’t speak in full sentences. Where as those brought up middle class areas, have stronger English skills and are able to communicate their needs more effectively. So when they mix, some children can find it difficult to understand other children, which could discourage them from communicating with them. Although, it could have a negative affect on their own language skills, as they could be around children who use broken English, and so they might start to use it too. However, it could have the flip side, that those who use broken English are having the opportunity to experience proper English. Bandura helps me to understand the Nature Vs Nurture debate a lot more. Bandura carried out a number of experiments to form the Bobo Doll experiments. These experiments tested the result of children witnessing different behaviours towards the dolls, and how they then acted after. He had a hypothesis that, found on https://www.britannica.com by Jeannette L. Nolen (accessed 24/12/2017), "Observation of aggression in others would increase the likelihood of aggression in
