Executive Summary All of us are well aware of the present situation of the telecom industry in our beloved homeland, Pakistan. Telecommunication industry, here in Pakistan is growing at much faster pace when compared with few years back in the scenario. It has developed a lot and more and more companies are started their operations in Pakistan. In this very era, one of the rising mobile companies, that became highlighted and are heard about almost everywhere in a very short period is Telenor. Telenor entered the Pakistan’s market few years and is now going excellent nowadays. 1. Telenor Introduction Telenor is 100% owned by the Telenor Group, an international provider of high quality voice, data, content and communication services in 13 markets across Europe and Asia. Telenor Group is among the largest mobile operators in the world with 180 million mobile subscriptions and a workforce of approximately 33,000. Telenor Pakistan has reported a subscriber base of over 36 million, making it Pakistan's second largest mobile operator. The present CEO of Telenor Pakistan is Mr. Irfan Wahab khan. Telenor acquired the license for providing the GSM services in Pakistan in April 2004, and had launched its services commercially in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Karachi on March 15 2005. The official opening was held in Islamabad with the President of Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf as the guest of honor and a Telenor delegation headed by CEO Telenor Group Jon Fredrik Baksaas. On March 23 2005, Telenor started its services in Lahore, Faisalabad, and Hyderabad.
