Describe the essential aspects of a self-directed, intrinsically motivated, active learner? The essential aspects of a self-directed learner as follow: ● The self-directed learner takes ownership of the learning process by setting personal educational goals, and monitoring his/her own progress. They put a plan for their educational objectives and always check their progress with the plan. ● The self-directed learner is self-motivated to learn and understand; not only driven by grades or external praise. He/She is hungry to get more and more information and new knowledge. They will never stop at one point. He/She will not rely on instructors, they investigate deeper to collect much more information than what the instructor have taught them. ● The self-directed learner learns collaboratively, through peer engagement and feedback. He/she never work alone; they prefer to work in team-works. ● The self-directed learner seeks out the available resources and understands the scope of the University, its departments, and its learning philosophy and approach. He/she will never miss any chance to explore more resources than what the UoPeople provided them. This apply the university philosophy which is based on student him/herself. ● The self-directed learner understands the importance of applying the knowledge learned in the classroom to continued personal and career development potential.
