THE STRUCTURE OF DECISIONS In decision making process, we need to consider three components. Firstly, the data that is used to make decisions. Secondly, the process for processing these data. Finally, the evaluation process which checks whether the data or the process need to be changed.  Structured Decisions Structured decisions are the decisions which are taken using set of rules, procedures. They are made from a set of input data. Whenever a decision is needed, it can be easily specified in advance.  Unstructured Decisions Unstructured decisions do not have direct data to make decisions. To carry out Planning, control and operational functions such information is required through decision making. By cost reduction and increased processing speed, there is increase in the competitiveness of the organizations. MIS contributes decision making in many ways. Companies start new business or make decision regarding operational performance in the current business using MIS. A decision-making process is developed by the companies based on responsibilities of employee for making decisions and business operations. The MIS system is available to all managers. It supplies data and information continuously to the managers so that they can be analyzed and decisions can be made accordingly. MIS system can identify a defect in its own system and acts to get it back to the control. It provides information that is required to take decision where human resource affect the organization. The main objective of this system is to analyze other system dealing with operational activity in the company. MIS is the most used tool for decision making [5] 6.2.2 Decision Support System (DSS) Marek J. Druzdzel in 2002 defines, “Decision support systems as an interactive, computer-based system that aid users in judgment and choice activities.” DSS provides model building and model-based reasoning through which information access and retrieval functions are improved. Graphic base: This software is used to convert the text information into graphical format which helps the reader to easily analyze the information 4. Model Base: This contains quantitative analysis, financial and statistical tools to perform the operation User Interface User Interface is a primary component in EIS. When a executive needs to enter and view data, the screen should be user friendly to ease the process. For example, system should provide wizards, menu, graphics to input and output the data. Telecommunications In the current IT trend, all the systems are connected and network plays a vital role in it. There is always a need to transfer the data or information from one place to another. This component is used for this purpose.
