Introduction Leaders, Dictators, empires and Kings rise and die but only ones that use their power to do good will and help their people will be remembered through time. History also tells us that there have been leaders that let power take over them and corrupt themselves and their family, friends and their country. It's only clear that “power corrupts and absolutely power corrupts absolutely” is, in fact, true and I certainly agree with the Quote written by Sir John Dalberg-Acton in the late 18th century. My first argument will state how people use their power to act for their benefit and abusing their leadership and power, the second argument will be talking how Power really shows someone’s real character and how they really are, my 3rd…show more content…
The best example of this happening is in the Russian revolution between 8 Mar. 1917 – 7 Nov. 1917, A man that goes by Joseph Stalin killed over 20million during his time in power. Joseph Stalin falsely misguided the people of Russia to believe that he was following Karl Marx and Leilin idea of capitalism where there is no social class, leaders or any type of currency, the example of a utopian country. Stalin took advantage of this idea and made himself higher than others and did things to benefit himself, but he always covered it up and made it seem that it was all a part of capitalism. In the book, "animal farm" Written by George Orwell published 17 August 1945, Shows an excellent overview of the Russian revolution using animals as people. On chapter 5 page 39 we can see Napoleon (Stalin) act upon himself and told his secret guard dogs to chased and kill snowballs (Leilin) because he simply didn't like snowballs ideas about the future of the animal farm. After snowball was gone Napoleon took full control of the farm and change the commandments to sever his benefits. This was almost a mirror image of an event that happens in the Russian revolution and how Joseph Stalin sent out his private police called USSAR to kill Leilin Trotsky and to completely take over Russia and put himself above every other
