Noah, a strong man of God, did some pretty amazing things in his lifetime. He stayed firm in his faith and he loved God with a burning passion. The story that Noah is known for in the Bible is the story of the flood which is a very significant story in history. If Noah had not made the ark, who knows if we would even be around today. Even though Noah is not mentioned in the Bible all that often, he plays a big role is the world’s history. The Bible tells us that Noah married a beautiful wife and had 3 sons by the time Noah was 500 years old, which is super old! His sons’ names were Shem, Ham, and Japheth, which surprisingly enough, were not considered weird names at the time. All of his sons grew up and married wives and they had sons of their own as well. Noah was the 10th descendent from the pre-flood patriarchs.…show more content…
Noah was 600 years old when the flood actually came. As instructed by God, the ark was made out of gopher wood, which was a type of timber that was light and very durable. The ark was 525 feet in length, 87 feet in breadth, and 52 feet in height. The people that were aboard the ark were Noah and his wife, their three sons and their wives. Also, there were 2 of every kind of living creature on the ark as well, which took a lot work for Noah to get all of those animals on board. The ark was like a giant floating house filled with animals and probably stank like a teenage boy’s room. It was floating on the water for 140 days till it finally rested on the mountains of Ararat on the seventh day of the seventh month. The flood waters were completely gone by the 1st day of the tenth month. The work ark means tebah which is Hebrew and doesn’t have a precise meaning.
