Multiple Sclerosis is a disease that directly effects the central nervous system, more particularly the brain and spinal cord. Typically in people who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis (MS), there is a depreciation in the myelin sheath, which is a protective insulating layer covering the axon of neurons. This sheath increases the rate of which neurotransmitters are transferred along axons. With MS, the myelin is targeted by the immune system, causing deterioration. The immune system see’s the myelin as some sort of intruder or disease that needs to be attacked and removed from the body’s system. It is unknown what causes the immune system to act this way. This invasion results in the myelin sheath incapable of completing its duty to speed
