During the summer of 2014, I was able to participate in a mission trip that took place in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee. The mission trip was a week long of amazing service experiences and fun. While on the Mountain Top mission trip, I got the chance to serve four different and wonderful families, all which impacted me in different ways. Throughout the course of the week and all the service I was taking part in, one lady stuck out to me the most. Her name was Barbara and she lived alone
Throughout my life I enjoyed travelling. I travelled with my family to different countries and marvelled at intricate landmarks. In 10th grade, we went to Yosemite National Park to hike through the landscapes. I remember using the national park map to locate every popular location and discover native animals. Some of the things we observed were the deer at Leidig Meadow, the crashing water at Bridalveil Fall, and the wondrous rock formations at the Half Dome. When I talked to a National Park Wilderness

France trip From the moment I stepped off the plane, I was bombarded with new experiences. The signs were in French. The people spoke French. Everything was French! It was a trip to Thailand that I first experienced getting out of the country. I was probably 5 years old and my mom was given tickets from the company she was working at as a reward for reaching a quota that they are asking. Though I do not remember all of the details it was truly an unforgettable trip. We weren’t those families who can spend much. We have enough money for our needs and that is why the experience of traveling was truly special for me. Fast forward a few years later, we have been
forty-eight hours to Missinipe, we found ourselves on the bus again for another eight hours before our journey would truly begin. We had heard stories about the trip we would be undertaking, about a legendary leader who lost his maps but continued with a compass North until he hit saltwater, about the ruggedest of men using the distress beacon all trips are packed out with to summon help by helicopter and humvee, yet we still believed we were above the land and water below us. Compounding our task, the weather
Guarani lands in South America with the purpose of establishing a mission, converting the natives to Christianity. He is joined by Rodrigo Mendoza, a reformed slave trader seeking redemption, whom is later converted into a Jesuit. A treaty transfers the land that the natives are living on from Spain to Portugal, and the Portuguese government wants to capture the slaves for labor. Gabriel and Rodrigo conclude that defending the mission is the right thing to do, but disagree on how to do so. From beginning
I think The Mission is a very interesting movie, this film tells the story of a Father named Gabriel who enters the South American jungle to build a mission and convert a community of Indians to Christianity. In the beginning of the film the father Gabriel is sent to scale the hazardous falls where the Indians live and try to reach out to the tribe. When Gabriel came to where the Indians live, the Indians warriors prepare to kill him, but after Gabriel plays his oboe, they allow him to live and
The Mission (1986) starring Robert DiNero, is set during the year 1750. The movie shows the life of the Jesuits, who are a type of priest, and their missions in Brazil. The cultures of countries like Spain and Portugal are also shown. The movie begins in a small Indian village that sits above a waterfall. This village is shown in a couple of perspectives. First, the viewer is shown a Jesuit Priest named Father Gabriel (Jeremy Irons). Initially, the viewer sees Father Gabriel’s attempt at converting
