A project methodology tells you what you have to do, to manage your projects from start to finish. It describes every step in the project life cycle in depth, so you know exactly which tasks to complete, when and how. Whether you're an expert or a novice, it helps you complete tasks faster than before. So before we jump up to a conclusion whether or not a project can be run without a methodology let us first know and study what exactly is a project methodology and what it is the process and structure of project methodology. Basically it is a process or certain steps of how a project should be carried out to make the project successful function effectively and efficiently with least malfunctioning. The benefits of a standard methodology? As we discussed earlier in the first question about what is the real meaning of project methodology and it is very important part of the functioning of any business whether small or big. It is an integral part of the project and there are various benefits and perks of project methodology, which will affect the project directly or indirectly. Now we are going to discuss various benefits of the standard methodology that will help the project being successful: • Clear scope • Time reduction • Cost reduction • Quality assurance • Monitoring and controlling • Minimal change • Improve staff • Supply management Clear scope: means defining the objectives and goals of the project on a project charter which includes the features of project, time, budget, deadlines in other words project scope is what needs to accomplished in a given periods of time and fulfil all the requirements. Quality assurance: if we made the project charter in the beginning of the project and describe all the requirements related to quality for instance; meet with the customers regularly to avoid mishap or communication should be there on regular basis. Monitoring and controlling: it is basically done during the executing part but is very beneficial in a project standard as it helps us to avoid the risks and leads to the efficient project completion.
