We all hear about drugs, but many of us never stop to think: What are drugs really? A drug, such as caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, and aspirin, is a chemical that affects the way your body functions, especially the brain, as it is the hub of all bodily actions. The Human Brain is the core of the nervous system, it is made up of millions of nerve cells. The Brain allows us to think, talk, respond, create, and much more. So, how do drugs affect the way it functions? Many drugs have different effects on the brain, in different areas. Firstly, Cocaine: Cocaine is a drug that has its greatest effect on the cerebral cortex and the limbic system. Normally, a neurotransmitter called dopamine is carries through the limbic system. I would say the topic of Drug use is a controversial one, as we can’t ignore their harm, and we can neither deny their benefits. Many surgical operations couldn't be done without the use of drugs nowadays. Many people also take drugs to treat diseases, they are used to improve memory and thinking of Alzheimer patients. So we can’t say that the disadvantages cancel the benefits! After all, drug addiction is a big issue, and we must put a stop to it. If you want to do it, it must be all in your head. Be determined to end it. Next is to get rid of people who influence you to abuse drugs. After that, replace them with supportive people who will help you overcome this obstacle, like your family.
