Facebook is the largest American online social media, social networking service and data processing. It has about 2.2 billion monthly active users of which gives Facebook a decent amount of data to collect from and make profit out of it. This is how it built up its business model based on information collection. Originally, Facebook’ idea was to connect people, but later it changed with the emerging opportunities it encountered. Other companies got attractive to Facebook due to the amount of collected data it was gathering, so they joined Facebook. By joining with these different companies, Facebook was able to offer Facebook Ads, Facebook Platform and Mobil Advertising. For instance, it offers products based on gender, religion, social class, income, etc. This is a great advantage for advertisers since they are able to offer their products according to the users’ needs and economic status. It encounters challenges and advantages as well. One of the disadvantages is the speed of certain pages used to search information. According to Google, it will be replaced by what is call “Speed Update” later this year. This will benefit pages that are slow when delivering information to its active users. It will not be affect it by the search engine’s different technologies in used. On the other hand, Android smartphones are its best advantage with Google Pixel 2. Its experience with this software made Google’s smartphones attractive. Another benefit is its “Chrome” browser which it enhances its smartphones to search information. It has Google Assistant which helps users find near by entertainments, driving directions, etc. Simpler interface is user-friendly and easier on the eyes of its users.
