Other sports where sound signals are used to indicate the start of a game can adopt light signals as well. In order to attract the attention of athletes, flags or hand gestures are sometimes used. Nowadays, rapid digitization has enabled technological solutions for communication. For example, visual aids, such as score boards, can indicate the progress of the game easily.
