The patient is a 14-year-old male presented to neurology with a two year history of progressive difficulty with walking and a two month history of speech difficulty. Per parent report, the patient’s gait abnormality was first noticed two years ago when the child was playing soccer. At that time, the patient demonstrated irregularity in stepping and frequent falling during daily activities. The patient stated he had difficulty walking around school and his legs became easily fatigued. As the months progressed, the patient began to notice a tremor in both of his upper extremities, which was especially pronounced while eating (e.g., putting the spoon to his mouth).
