Vince Lombardi, one of the greatest NFL coaches of all time, once said, “Football is like life - it requires perseverance, self-denial, hard work, sacrifice, dedication and respect for authority” (Brainyquote.com). This is an inspirational quote because it talks about some of the things that make football great. Football is the greatest sport of all time because of the intensity, the teamwork that it takes to win, and the relationships that are built by playing the sport. One of the reasons why football is the best sport ever created is the intensity. Playing football is like two armies fighting in a brutal war. When the players step on the field, they believe deep down in their hearts that they are going to win this war against the opposing team. They have a love and a passion for the game of football, and it shows when they are on that emerald battlefield playing the game with so much intensity. They claw and scratch to get the first down, they bump and bang against each other trying to get in the end zone, and they do it all with a flame of anger and intensity burning inside them. Every player is like a part of a machine, and every part needs to work for it to run smoothly. One player can’t win the game by himself. It takes every player giving it their all, on every play, to win in this game. On the offense, it takes good blocking, a smart running back, a good route ran by the receiver, and a good pass by the quarterback for it all to work. At times it’s like how all the pieces to a puzzle come together to make the picture. All those players come together to win that game of football. So the amount of teamwork it takes to win is another reason why football is the greatest sport of all
