The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty

Dinner with a Daydreamer The short story, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, by James Thurber, introduces us to the main character Walter Mitty. In my opinion, Walter would make a very entertaining dinner guest. One reason Walter would make a great dinner guest, would be because he could be funny. While you are both sitting at your table, you could use his ability to space out against him for your own personal amusement. If he spaces out while you’re talking, you could sit there and watch him space out. You could also scare him out of his daydreams and claim it was an accident, like sneezing loudly or coughing or dropping something. If he engaged in a conversation, it would truly make my day if he were to speak in accents like did in his daydreams.
